A Bachelor in Communication and a Master in Business, John’s Indiana roots gave him a penchant for detail and a devotion to truth. A view of his background includes music, Indie films, hip hop, theater, runway modeling and intense “bad guy” roles. Passionate roles and comedic characters gave him an understanding of method acting that moves through his face from eyebrows to rippling chest. He demands much of actors as he brings depth to roles.

John Gearries searches for reality shows, game shows, short films, feature films, music videos, podcasts, talk shows….every genre. He is not content to compete with network for tired viewers, he intends to wake-up the public with programming that demands more, gives more. Interactive and character driven new media hold a particular enchantment for John. His determination to find the next great show exposes the lackluster scripts that don’t meet his criteria.

Recent credits include Lion’s Gate psychological horror show “Mental Scars”, “Young Again”, “Code Black”, “Demons Rising”, “Six Days”, “Vortex of Revelation”, and “A World Lost”. His recent role in the new Jack Black movie “The Year One” as a caveman carved a niche in Hollywood’s heart for this gregarious actor/producer.
